Ministries & Outreach at Tilghman Methodist Church

At a glance: Tilghman Methodist Church serves Tilghman Island and the wider Bay Hundred community through worship, fellowship and outreach. Here is a short guide to each of our ministries and who it is for.

  • Healthy Tilghman: a community outreach of the church to improve body, mind and spirit in Bay Hundred, with mental health counseling from the church Annex, peer support, NARCAN distribution to reduce overdose, weekly exercise classes, food support and crisis resources.
  • Helping Hands: food and financial assistance for those in need in the Bay Hundred area, including the Tilghman Food Pantry and free meals prepared and delivered on Wednesdays. The Food Pantry is open on Wednesdays from 2:30 to 4:00 PM.
  • Children & Youth Ministry: Youth Sunday School at 10:00 AM on Sundays in the Church Annex, during worship, youth group activities, and Vacation Bible School in the summer.
  • Methodist Women: fellowship and service, from the Christmas Bazaar to community dinners and support for Tilghman Elementary School.
  • Methodist Men: all men are welcome at the Men’s Prayer Breakfast at 7:00 AM. The date changes each month: see the calendar or call 410-886-2045.
  • Fellowship Groups: sewing, breakfasts, free exercise classes and lunches, all welcome.
  • Community Resources: links to island organizations including the Tilghman Area Youth Association, Tilghman Elementary, the Volunteer Fire Company and the Watermen’s Museum.
